Many people have a list of things they want to accomplish in life. Whether that list is written on paper or in your head, there is something out there that you haven’t done or accomplished that you hope to. Creating a bucket list is the first step you can take when it comes to goal creation and accomplishment.
Believe it or not though, creating a bucket list can be harder to do than you expect. There are many factors that come into play when you create a bucket list. Below you will find the ultimate guide to creating a bucket list.
Think Outside the Box
Creating a bucket list doesn’t have to be boring. Encourage yourself to think outside the box. Some of the most fun and interesting things on your list will end up being the most random, so allow yourself to dream.
Write in Stages
It isn’t easy to construct a bucket list, so it is a good idea to write it in stages. It isn’t uncommon to get started and then draw a blank. Do not allow yourself to feel overwhelmed, just take some time off from writing and come back to it. Creating a bucket list is an evolution of sorts, it may take weeks or months to fully complete you list. In fact, don’t feel pressured to complete it at all. The truth is, you may add things frequently. I am always updating my bucket list. Take a look at it here!
Get Inspired
Look online for bucket list templates to get an idea of how to construct one. Looking at other people’s completed bucket lists can help to inspire your goals. You don’t have to add the same things to yours, but it can give you an idea of what to add.
Don’t Stick to One Area
Remember to incorporate many different areas of your life. You don’t have to stick to one category like travel, instead you can add things like finances, careers, hobbies, relationships and more. These are all fantastic things to consider when building your lifetime list.
Include Timely Goals
There will be some goals on your bucket list, that will take some time to complete. Make sure to include goals that can be reached in a timely manner. Choose something easy to do like joining a gym or taking a dance class. These things can be completed today and will help you to achieve things that you have wanted to achieve for a while.
Balance
Some items on your bucket list are going to be easier to complete than others. Balance is the key here. Make sure that you balance the goals on your bucket list.
Make it Fun
Remember, the whole idea of creating a bucket list is to take steps to do the things you want in your life. Don’t stress out about it, this is your chance to grab life by the horns so have fun with it.
Creating a bucket list can be difficult but it doesn’t have to be scary. Remember to think outside the box and take some breaks when you need to. This list will be something that gives you the chance to do the things you want in life. Happy Bucket Listing!

Great tips! I have a mental bucket list that just seems to keep growing and growing. I used to have all kinds of really big expensive things on there but I’m learning that smaller more manageable ones are good too!
