The kids and I love to drink smoothies! We find fruit smoothies an easy and delicious way to start the day. I’ve heard a lot about chia seeds recently so I thought I would make a smoothie that includes them in the recipe. Throw in strawberries and peaches and you can’t go wrong.
Ingredients:
1 vanilla yogurt cup (I used Activia)
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen peach slices
1 cup milk
1 tsp chia seeds
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender mixing at once or in batches. If mixing in by ingredients, start with the yogurt and milk, then add frozen strawberries and peach slices followed by chia seeds.
2. Add more or less milk to desired thickness.
Note – Almond milk can be substituted if looking for a dairy-free alternative.
3. Serve smoothie immediately as chia seeds will begin to absorb moisture over time and will give the smoothie a gelatin like consistency.
This smoothie is delicious, very healthy and a family favourite.
